The rumors of the couple's supposed wedding began to swirl weeks ago, but Essence magazine told yesterday's (May 27) readers that the wedding took place weeks ago in a private Miami ceremony.
Hip hop, gossip, and "mainstream" websites took notice and began reporting on the couple's nuptials.
According to Tip's publicist, Sydney Margetson, everyone jumped the gun because the reports are "absolutely not true," reports Sister to Sister magazine.
As previously reported by Yo! Raps, Tip turned himself into a federal prison in Forrest City, Arkansas on Tuesday (May 26).
He is set to serve 366 days, but could have up to 55 days shaved off of his sentence if he meets good behavior requirements, says the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Georgia.
